German speaking Direct Procurement Professional in Galway, Ireland DX2779

Company: Our client is a successful company and with over 10 year’s experience, they have become one of the most recognised names within their industry. They attribute their immense success to maintaining customer satisfaction by always meeting or surpassing customer expectations. One of their offices is based in Galway from where they support their core markets. Their Galway operation manages sales, customer service and finance administration. They are now looking for a German speaking direct procurement professional for their office in Galway, Ireland.

Role: In our client’s European office there is a new position available as a German speaking direct procurement professional. The direct procurement professional is responsible for the commodity management process for direct goods and services. Their tasks include, implementing procurement strategy and policies, forecasting procurement needs, creating and implementing KPI’S, monitoring macro trends in supplier and contract base and implementing plans to react, managing contracts and databases, tracking purchasing activity measurements and helping to lower costs and secure agreements. Other functions they are responsible for include building and developing relationships with key suppliers and customers, leading the procurement group in all phases, preparing purchase requisitions, approving and issuing purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiating terms and conditions

Skills: The ideal candidate must speak fluent German and fluent English. Candidates are required to have 5-8 years previous experience in a similar role, along with a bachelor’s degree that is relevant to this position. The chosen candidate must be decisive, self motivated, enthusiastic, have good presentation skills, have the ability to work in a team, complete tasks and projects and possess excellent communicational skills both verbally and written. The candidate should have strong IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft office package, Ariba and SAP. An ability to draft and red-line contracts is required for this position.
